This Fair Oaks backyard renovation was all about transformation. Carol and her family wanted more usable outdoor space and a fresh, modern look — without losing the warmth and charm of real wood.

What began as a basic deck remodel quickly evolved into a full expansion project, including integrated lighting for nighttime usability, a custom-built planter box, wide steps for comfortable access, and premium redwood decking with contrasting grain.

By enlarging the original footprint and blending it seamlessly with the existing wraparound structure, we created a multi-functional space that looks like it was always meant to be there. From day to night, this deck now serves as the visual and social centerpiece of the backyard.
